Is it important to know what to do after being in an Accident? yes. Because one in eight drivers get involved in an auto accident each year as per NATIONAL SAFETY COU(NSA). Accident can be outrageous and sometimes can be terrible experience.

Steps to be taken if your vehicle is a part of a car collision

• Try to stop the car as quickly & securely as possible, if the situation allows you.

• Visualize yourself to moving traffic by turning on your hazard lights.
• Turn the ignition off of your car's and other's who are involved in the accident and leave away the car.
• Alert the Police and Medical services.
• Give and get the complete information of the driver, like- his/ her name, address, telephone number, insurance company, policy coverage and telephone number to contact the insurance company and the details of car- model, make, license date, car number etc.
• If the people stopped as witness, take their statements about the incident what they have seen along their telephone number, name and signature.
• If anybody have camera take pictures of the cars which are damaged in the accident & of the road where the accident happened and also of the injuries if drivers received.
• Make sure to get the information about the police like - names, badge number, if the police was local or highway sheriffs and information of emergency service personnel also. It will be easier to know from where you need to receive the copy of the police report.
• Do not leave the place until police say it is okay. Now its time to leave after following all the steps. once you are free from the devastating experience, its time to claim your insurance and other party's if it was their fault.

• Be in contact with the insurance company unless you are negotiated completely.
